The Dancing Book

So I have the opportunity to participate in the Miss Sevier County Pageant this weekend.  My talent is poetry writing so I am gonna do a poetry reading....with some Flare to make it interesting.  This is the poem I have pieced together for saturday night.....i just have to memorize it now. :) oh fun!!

The Dancing Book

Dancing away
I create my book
the book of my world
as my feet move
on a never ending trend
my soul leaps and falls
 with painted emotions
that paint my book
with the tears that fly from my eyes
and slowly, ever so slowly
i see the pages begin to close
to close in on me
and as the book captures my soul
I YELL out in despair
as my never ending dance
comes to a pause as
 I challenge myself to walk
into the unknown and to take a chance
to become someone besides myself
my tears trail down
to land upon the mirrored floor
to leave pools of paint
as i rewrite my life
i hold still while
the book of my world
begins to fail
and soon becomes
nothing more than a bitter tale
yet as it fails
and begins to crumble in my hands
i reach up
to catch a fallen star
and i watch
as it slowly ever so slowly
forms the book of gold
as i then burn
my book of mold

They...

They...

Slip.....to fall
fall ....to be
to be....true to all.
to all....who made a differnce
upon a white moon
they danced into my life
and just as fast they vanished off the maps.

I Try

I Try
i try to be
i try to do
yet in the end
i try to hard
to do
and to be
what i cant
and who i cant
do and be
so i end up
being who
i am meant to be..

My Hero

As a little girl grows up her heroes are never the same.  When I was younger I had my heroes, and the people I wanted to be just like as I grew up.  Yet as I have gotten older my heroes have changed, they have never stayed the same for long and they always let me down in the end.  Yet from the moment of my first breath to this very second and for eternity and beyond, I have one hero who’s never left me, never let me down, who’s always supported, and has always loved me unconditionally.  And who will never leave me to wonder where I stand in his life.  This man does not have a name that will blow the world away, but the name he has taken for this lifetime stands for who he is and will always stand for who I am and he holds my world together.  This man is my Daddy, Stephen T. Huls.  He is solid in all he does, and he does it with a pure mind and with good intent, and he always gives his very best.  I look at him and I want to be just like him.  My dad is one of a kind, and he has a complete original mind that could scare, or confuse the smartest of men. Yet that mind of his is full of strange, silly, amazing, mind blowing ideas that have played a part in the foundation of my life.  I am one of five children, and we all describe him with the same words.  We all hold him with the same amount of respect that he has always shown to us and to our amazing mother and grandparents.  When he talks we listen, and when we talk he listens.  My Dad can be described as, unique, strange, dedicated, honest, blunt, a patriot and some would say insane.  But as a father he is so much more to us children.  He is a father who gave up things he wanted for the benefit of his children.  He has given up his dreams, to help us create and accomplish our own dreams.  I could never ask for a better father.  Dad I wrote this for you, and I wish you a happy birthday with lots of love your daughter Emma Joy.

Dreams of a Woman

Dreams Of A Woman
 I walk through and
I walk too
Many places
At many different times
In this life
And as I walk
I see everything yet
I don’t see enough
I wish to see the world, yet
I do not wish to see everything
This world has to offer me..
So as I see
I talk to many
For the love of talking is in my soul
Yet sometimes I think I talk to too many people
Yet I do not talk to some
For the feelings that radiated off of them,
So as I talk
I feel, their emotions and
I feel their unique personalities seep off
Of those who I meet in this crazy world of ours
And well, some I do okay with,
Yet others scare my very being
So as I feel
I run…from those who care, and
I hide…from those who don’t know, and
I cry…as my faith is tested at every bend, But Oh,
How I allow myself to dream
For without my dreams
The dreams of a woman, I am no one
And I am unable to
Walk the way I walk, to
See the way I see, to
Talk the way I talk, or to
Feel the way I feel, for
These are what make me,
Who I am
And all because
I allow myself….to…
DREAM the dream of a ..Woman

This Moment

This Moment

this road in life passes Me by
I cant close my eyes
and I cant keep them open
My mind is always thinking
and my breath is always coming
the seconds tick by slowly
and the hours disappear
this moment in life
will come and it will go...
